4.5 Use ICT safely, responsibly and ethically:

Evidence 1 and 2: During my placements I have seen the use of and made use of ICT in order to enrich the learning of my students in the understanding of curriculum concepts. Some of these included a requirement for students to access the internet to use online resources for them to complete assigned assessment tasks: example Studyladder.
Students in classes that I have been involved with also use the website Edmodo, another form of online learning that facilitated individual and self paced classwork for early finishers. Class Dojo was used to notify parents during the day of any issues, class requirements as well as a behavioural class management program.
As a user of many digital resources in the classroom, it is a priority to ensure that all government and school policies are adhered to when providing access to ICT materials. I make sure that I keep abreast of the technology available and how it works to ensure it is in accordance with school rules as well as checking the resources for suitability for students.
Working in accordance to the curriculum criteria ensures I would always be conscious of the safety, responsible and ethical requirements as a teacher towards students and their learning environment.
